Mines is a risk-versus-reward game where you uncover safe tiles while avoiding hidden mines. Every successful selection increases your potential payout, allowing you to cash out at any time before revealing a mine.
Before each round begins, you choose how many mines will be hidden across the 5×5 board. Fewer mines provide safer gameplay with lower multipliers, while more mines increase both the risk and potential rewards.
Once your wager and mine count have been selected, a new board containing 25 hidden tiles is generated. Your objective is to reveal as many safe tiles as possible without uncovering a mine.
Every safe tile increases your current payout multiplier. You may continue revealing additional tiles to chase higher rewards or cash out at any time to secure your winnings.
If you reveal a mine before cashing out, the round ends immediately and the wager is lost.
The number of mines selected directly affects the game's difficulty and payout multipliers. Choosing fewer mines offers a greater chance of finding safe tiles, while selecting more mines significantly increases both the danger and the potential return.
Since every tile has an equal chance of containing a mine based on the generated board, deciding when to cash out is the key strategic element of the game.
Every Mines board on FortBux is generated using our provably fair system. The layout is deterministically created from the revealed server seed, your client seed, the game nonce, and the selected mine count.
Using HMAC-SHA256, deterministic values are generated and used to shuffle all 25 board positions. The first positions from the shuffled result are then assigned as mine locations according to the selected mine count.
Once the server seed has been revealed, you can reproduce the board yourself and verify that every mine position matches the original game result exactly.
